HARRISBURG, PA — Senator Dan Laughlin (R-49) announced today that Summit Township will receive $533,988 through PennDOT’s Green Light-Go Program to upgrade traffic signals and improve safety and mobility for residents, commuters, and businesses throughout the community.
The funding will support traffic signal upgrades at several key intersections, including:
- Waterford Street and Bloomfield Avenue
- Douglas Parkway and Commons Drive
- Perry Highway and Route 9016 Ramp A & B
- Perry Highway and Route 8016 Ramp C & D
- Perry Highway and Presque Isle Drive
- Perry Highway and Robinson Road
“These investments help ensure our communities have safe, reliable, and modern transportation infrastructure,” said Sen. Laughlin. “Upgrading traffic signals improves safety for drivers and pedestrians while helping traffic move more efficiently. I’m pleased to see state resources coming back to Erie County to support important local improvements.”
The Green Light-Go Program provides funding to municipalities for projects that improve the operation and efficiency of existing traffic signals. Eligible projects include traffic signal modernization, LED technology upgrades, traffic signal timing improvements, monitoring systems, and other improvements designed to enhance safety and mobility.
Since 2023, PennDOT has awarded $134 million through the Green Light-Go Program to communities across Pennsylvania, helping upgrade more than 1,700 traffic signals statewide.
