HARRISBURG – Sen. Dan Laughlin (R-49) today announced that the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has approved $2.641 million for a drinking water infrastructure project benefiting the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Waterford.
The funding was approved during the PENNVEST Board’s July 15 meeting and will support critical improvements to Waterford’s drinking water system.
“Reliable drinking water infrastructure is essential to protecting public health, supporting economic growth and ensuring our communities remain strong for generations to come,” Laughlin said. “I’m pleased to see this investment coming to Waterford and appreciate PENNVEST’s commitment to helping local communities make the upgrades needed to provide safe, dependable service.”
PENNVEST provides low-interest loans and grants to communities across Pennsylvania to improve drinking water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure while helping reduce the financial burden on local ratepayers.
“This investment reflects the importance of maintaining and modernizing the infrastructure that residents and businesses rely on every day,” Laughlin said. “Projects like this help ensure Waterford has a resilient water system that can continue serving the community well into the future.”
The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Waterford was among the projects approved for funding during the July 15 PENNVEST Board meeting, receiving $2.641 million for its construction drinking water project.
If you can provide the PENNVEST project summary (or the agenda page with Project No. 20), I can tailor this release with the specific improvements—such as water main replacements, storage tank rehabilitation, treatment upgrades, or well improvements—and make it much stronger.
