
ERIE –– Senator Dan Laughlin today announced that more than $4.2 million in state funding has been awarded to support critical infrastructure projects across Erie County. The grants, provided through the Pennsylvania Small Water & Sewer Program (SWS) and the Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF), will help municipalities upgrade aging water and sewer systems and improve transportation connectivity.
“These investments are essential to ensuring safe, reliable infrastructure for our communities,” said Senator Laughlin. “From clean drinking water to safer roads and pedestrian access, these projects will strengthen Erie County and position us for future growth.”
Small Water & Sewer Program Awards
- Erie City Water Authority (Erie Water Works) – RSW Water Treatment Plant Low Duty Variable Frequency Drives – $224,218
- Girard Borough – Quail Ridge Lift Station Project 2025 – $175,000
- Summit Township Water Authority – Hershey Road Water Infrastructure Replacement – $500,000
- North East Township Water & Sewer Authority – South Shore Avenue Area Waterline Replacement – $400,000
- Wattsburg Borough – Water System Maintenance and Repairs – $226,202
- Harborcreek Township Sewer Authority – The Harborcreek Village – $250,000
- North East Borough – Mechanics Alley Revisited – $283,942
Total SWS Funding: $2,059,362
Multimodal Transportation Fund Awards
- Albion Borough – Albion Park Pedestrian Bridge Project – $250,000
- Erie-Western PA Port Authority – East Bluffs Shared Use Path Upgrades and Extension – $1,400,000
- Wesleyville Borough – Euclid Boulevard Phase 2 Reconstruction and Pedestrian Improvements – $500,000
Total MTF Funding: $2,150,000
Combined, these programs will deliver $4,209,362 in state support for Erie County communities.
