
ERIE – Senator Dan Laughlin today announced the approval of more than $5 million in Local Share Account (LSA) Statewide grant funding for critical infrastructure, public safety, and
community development projects across Erie County.
“These investments reflect our commitment to improving the quality of life for residents throughout Erie County,” said Senator Laughlin. “From clean water access and public safety
upgrades to economic development and recreational improvements, these projects will have a lasting impact on our communities.”
The LSA grants, funded through gaming revenues, support projects that benefit the public and promote economic development. The following Erie County projects were awarded funding:
• Erie City – $205,474 for a new screener with hopper to improve recycling efficiency and meet DEP standards.
• Erie Water Works – $300,000 for the Clark Road Water Main Extension in Harborcreek Township, serving 56 new customers and a community park.
• Greene & Millcreek Townships – $400,000 for Phase 2 of a water system expansion along Route 8.
• Erie County Library – $100,000 for renovations to the H.O. Hirt Auditorium, enhancing accessibility and technology.
• Gannon University – $1,000,000 for the construction of a CLIA-certified medical laboratory in the iHACK building.
• LECOM Senior Living Center – $529,102 for the purchase of wheelchair and mobility vans to expand senior transportation services.
• Fairview Township Sewer Authority – $200,000 for new public sewer lines to replace failing septic systems.
• Franklin Township – $486,000 for the construction of a new municipal building.
• Girard Borough – $244,317 for renovation of the municipal swimming pool.
• Harborcreek Township – $80,151 for ADA-compliant upgrades at Shades Beach and $346,250 for a new snow plow truck.
• Lake City Borough – $103,709 for a high-pressure sewer jetter, $120,000 for sanitary sewer restoration, and $81,176 for a new police interceptor vehicle.
• Lawrence Park Township – $122,250 for a new leaf vacuum machine.
• Millcreek Township – $250,000 for the Shorehaven Lift Station replacement project.
• Wesleyville Borough – $250,000 for the reconstruction of Euclid Boulevard to meet ADA standards.
