Senator-elect Laughlin to be Sworn In on January 3

The New Year brings a new set of exciting challenges for Dan Laughlin as he starts his new job as the state Senator for the 49th District when the General Assembly begins the 2017-18 Legislative Session on January 3.

Senator-elect Laughlin will be among 25 senators taking the oath that day during a ceremony set for noon in the Senate Chamber. The ceremony will be streamed live at www.pasenategop.com.

“I have always wanted to help my community and I felt that running for office was a really good way to do that and I was fortunate enough to win,” Senator-elect Laughlin said. “I am really looking forward to working for the people of my district.” Video

Constituents can call (814) 453-2515 to receive state forms for PACE and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program; state transportation and fishing maps; and assistance with PENNDOT, welfare and other state-related matters.

Senator-elect Laughlin encourages local residents to visit his website, www.senatorlaughlin.com, and his Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/senatorlaughlin/, to keep up to date with state government news and learn more about state services and agencies.

Senator-elect Laughlin and the state are currently finalizing the set-up of his district office at 1314 Griswold Plaza with plans to re-open it for constituent services in the near future. Senator-elect Dan Laughlin renegotiated the terms of former Senator Sean Wiley’s lease for the office to create a 31 percent reduction in the monthly rent, which represents a savings to taxpayers of $15,500 a year for the same location.

Senator-elect Laughlin’s Harrisburg office is in Room 184 on the first floor of the Senate wing in the State Capitol. His Harrisburg office mailing address is Senate Box 203049, Harrisburg, PA 17120-3049. The Harrisburg office telephone number is (717) 787-8927.

“My staff and I look forward to working for the people of the 49th district, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve this community,” Senator-elect Laughlin said. “As we start the new year, we face many challenges, but also many opportunities to make our region the best place to live and work in Pennsylvania.”
