In this Update:
Securing Over $5 Million for Erie CountyI am pleased to announce the approval of more than $5 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grant funding for projects across Erie County. These investments will support critical infrastructure, public safety, and community development efforts—from clean water improvements and public safety upgrades to economic development and recreational projects. These grants reflect our continued commitment to improving quality of life and supporting the communities that make Erie County a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Investing in Erie County CommunitiesMore than $3 million in Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credit awards supporting organizations across Erie County were announced. These investments will help expand access to food, strengthen neighborhoods, support small businesses, improve housing, and grow workforce and youth programs. By partnering with community organizations doing impactful work on the ground, we’re continuing to invest in projects that improve quality of life and create opportunity throughout our region. Visiting a Local Education LeaderI recently visited Big Ideas Learning Company and saw firsthand a great, family-owned business that has been producing textbooks used in classrooms across the nation right here in Erie for decades. They employ a large number of local residents and create engaging video content to complement their curriculum. It’s a really neat business to have right here in the district and a great example of local innovation and job creation. Honoring Our Erie FirefightersI was proud to attend the City of Erie’s press conference highlighting the important work of the Erie Fire Department and the bravery our firefighters show day in and day out to keep our community safe. During the event, the department was presented with a brand-new SCBA cleaning system that will thoroughly clean their breathing equipment after fires, helping reduce long-term cancer risks and better protect those who put their lives on the line for us every day. How I Can HelpIf you or someone you know is having trouble accessing state programs or services, or if you have questions about a law or government program and aren’t sure where to turn, my team and I are here to help. I offer you my warm wishes for a very Merry Christmas filled with joy and laughter. May you and your family enjoy a holiday season that is marked by joy and love.
