GYSD is a global initiative to have youth commit to serving their community, becoming more invested in it, as well as learn the meaning of service and community!

The date for this year’s Global Youth Services Day (GYSD) is April 22nd!

Schedule

7:00 am-8:45 am – Registration and Ralley; East High School
8:45 am-9:00 am – In the Huddle
9:00 am-9:30 am – Travel to Service Sites
9:30 am-1:00 pm – Service Activity
1:00 pm-1:30 pm – Travel to school auditorium
1:30 pm-4:00 pm – Lunch, Reflection, and Celebration; East High School

Our goal this year is to have over 1000 volunteers contribute over 4000 hours of service in a single day!

Senator Dan Laughlin is pleased to announce his partnership with the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial to host the 2017 Veterans Resource and Job Expo. There will be almost 100 exhibitors in attendance dedicated to connecting veterans with valuable community resources and prospective employers. All proceeds and donations support local veteran memorials.

Our annual Veterans Resource and Job Expo is an event aimed at connecting our local veterans to jobs and resources in their community – we will host almost 100 services, programs, or businesses interested in providing opportunities to our veterans. This year we are partnering with the Erie Vietnam Veterans Memorial to provide essential funds towards its upkeep and services, with a goal of $15,000!
